Amwaj Association for Community Development and Improvement, in partnership with Gaza Group for Culture and Development Association, carried out a humanitarian activity that involved distributing blankets to affected families in Al-Salam Camp, north of the Gaza Strip, as part of efforts to support the most needy families and alleviate their suffering amid the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions that residents of the area are experiencing. This activity was implemented after identifying the needs of a large number of families suffering from harsh living conditions, especially with the drop in temperatures and the lack of basic materials that help them withstand the winter cold. The initiative targeted the affected and most vulnerable families, including those living in simple homes or lacking basic living necessities. Field teams and volunteers from both associations worked on preparing the blankets and organizing the distribution process in an orderly manner to ensure that the aid reached its rightful recipients according to clear criteria based on the social and humanitarian status of the beneficiary families. Coordination was also made with local authorities and community committees within the camp to identify the families most in need. As part of its humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of displaced and vulnerable families in the Gaza Strip, Amwaj Association for Community Development has implemented a project aimed at providing safe and clean drinking water for the residents of Al-Salam Camp, especially displaced and poor families. The residents of Al-Salam Camp face a continuous shortage of potable water due to difficult living conditions, which leads to health risks such as waterborne diseases, including diarrhea and skin infections. Therefore, the association’s initiative aims to ensure that families have access to clean and safe water for drinking and daily use. The project included the following measures: Distribution of sterilized, safe drinking water to displaced families, focusing on the most vulnerable households. Provision of water tanks and safe storage equipment to ensure that water remains clean and uncontaminated. Health awareness campaigns about the importance of drinking clean water and safe methods of storage and use. Coordination with local partners to ensure the continuous supply of water and regular monitoring of its quality. This initiative aims to protect the health of displaced families and improve their living conditions, reflecting Amwaj Association’s commitment to supporting the local community and enhancing life in the camps, especially under emergency humanitarian circumstances.
